This work focuses, for the first time, on mechanistic modelling of wastewater disinfection by solar photo-Fenton process using controlled simulated radiation. At circumneutral pH, iron precipitates forming hydroxides and significantly affecting optical properties water. In this regard, radiation transfer in reactor has been taken into account. The proposed model considers that inactivation bacteria follows a serial n-event mechanism with n reversible steps photonic attacks leading to bacterial inactivation. Dark Fenton cyclic hydroxyl radical formation from hydrogen peroxide is considered be mediated mainly precipitated species, prevailing at pH.
